Josef Mengele died in Brazil of an ‘accidental’ drowning. I wonder if it was an accident at all?! I would like to think one of his victims was able to reap a modicum of justice whilst forcing his head beneath the water.
This sick bastard fancied himself a doctor, but was not interested in healing or health. He considered himself a geneticist, a man of science, but did not follow scientific method.
Mengele was stationed at Auschwitz-Birkenau on May 24, 1943. Aside from his duty of deciding the fate of thousands as they staggered from the Nazi cattle trains, Mengele spent a great deal of his time experimenting on children – twins to be specific.
He thought he could learn about genetics by experimenting (torturing) one of the twins, while treating the other normally. At the end of the experiment, he would murder both and autopsy them with the hope of finding anatomical differences.
Some examples of his experiments: He wanted to see if he could change the eye colour of children, so he injected various chemicals into their eyes, most often resulting in blindness. He once had twins cut in half so he could see if they could be sewn together. He sterilized children. He gave them shock treatments. He amputated limbs.
He murdered innocent children.
Nothing of his work is considered useful or scientific. As a matter of fact, most of his notes were destroyed at the end of the war due to the criminal implications contained within.
Mengele claimed ‘he never personally hurt anyone in his life.’
However, he ran like hell from the allies in 1945 & lived in constant fear that the Mossad would capture him. He moved from Argentina to Paraguay, then to Brazil – always under a different alias. That’s definitely the behaviour of someone who believes he’s done no wrong.

Unfortunately they modern medicine profited a lot from the “research” of Mengele and the Nazi doctors.
Moreover Mengele was one of the leading capacities of his time and he researched on a up-to-date basis of his time, certainly with all the cruelty other doctors were not able to do in a democracy. That everything is based on a genetic code was not known at that time, they were researching on the basis of Mendelian inheritance.
He was a respected doctor until it was known how he received his information, even then people would use that information to continue researching in this field.
Those things are often put away that a lot of achievments of the modern medicine can be traced back to the Nazi researches.

Frank< You are absoulutley right. And I applaud your coarage to say so. Sometimes the truth is ugly, people need to realize that. Just like the atrocities of Nazi Germany were bad, in truth they are GREATLY exxagerated. And this TRUTH is slowly surfacing, proven by modern science, and death bed confessions….but not everyone will want to hear it.

danny orovan sir you are missing the point frank is making, at end of war the victors took everything and if in any way could be used they used it, including the results of these vile experiments. the experiments using compressed air were a great help to britain and america for high flying which was in it`s infancy then. so please do not criticise frank for his honest appraisal of what the allies did at the end of the war.

The writer above is confusing Mengele with some of the “Paperclip” doctors brought to the US. Mengele and Verschuer destroyed the mountains of paperwork on their ‘research’.
The other doctors and scientists who were brought to the US worked for the CIA, and were protected. Mengele, on the other hand, hid in S. America.

Mengele was a mass murderer, and a sadist. However history is full of such people – from Ghenghis Khan and Mohammed, to Alexander Pichushkin and Tomas de Torquemada. And that is excluding politicians (e.g. cowards) like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, George Bush and Hitler, who preferred others to do their killings for them.
We musn’t forget that although Mengele was in charge, and took the credit/blame for all that went on in his clinics, most of the atrocities were carried out by his Jewish doctors. They were by all accounts even more enthusiastically vicious than he was.
The moral of the story is that this has nothing to do with being Nazi or Jewish. It is simply that human evil can flourish in these sorts of situations and times. A modern parallel can be seen in Abu Ghraib.
